Meesho’s 9-day ‘reset and recharge’ employee break

Meesho has announced its fourth company-wide ‘reset and recharge’ break from October 26 to November 3, where employees get 9 days off from work with no laptops, emails, meetings or calls.

Lately, news of a toxic corporate culture has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons, but this announcement brings relief and contradicts the notion that employees rarely get to enjoy holidays in the corporate world. Through announcing their break, they want to put emphasis on their amiable working environment.

Meesho has very sagaciously taken advantage of the due holidays due to festivities and announced its break.

You didn’t get it yet? No worries!

We can say after seeing the holiday calendar that Meesho got the wind in their favour. The break starts from October 26, so 26 and 27 happen to be a weekend, October 31 is a holiday due to Diwali and November 1 is Kannada Rajyotsava which is again a public holiday. So technically, it’s not 9 but 3 days for which Meesho has given the break, but are you even a brand-owner if you do not know how to take leverage from the given situations.

The post has garnered lots of appreciation from netizens.

Showing empathy towards colleagues is in vogue because it creates the impression that employers genuinely care about their employees. In today’s digital landscape, individuals can face criticism or widespread acclaim in mere seconds and such actions often receive abundant praise.

This was also employed by Zomato’s CEO, who, along with his wife, took on the role of delivery agents in an effort to experience life as their employees do.

This enhances the brand’s image and elevates its reputation a notch higher.
